I am one of 12 artists chosen by curator Cynthia Penna to participate in an exchange show, “Ambiguous Reality,” in Los Angeles and Naples, Italy at ART1307 Cultural Institution.

My 60-second video, Arrivederci Napoli, is a motion sculpture capturing the abstract essence of movement and the traveller’s mesmerizing sense of the blurring of time and reality. This video inspired a series of acrylic on canvas paintings, in the same cinematic proportions (16:9). The series begins with a literal representation of the video’s steel train tracks, gravel, and wood railroad ties. In the same way that the video speeds up and becomes more abstract, the paintings leave behind the painted physical features and take off into the abstraction of my dragged “Action Painting” technique.  (all paintings 18” x 34”)
